Alessandro Chalimba

Alessandro Chalimba is Head of Product & Technology at Gateway Ventures and responsible for Calmar: what the team builds, how it is priced and how it is brought to market.

Calmar started as a tool for one network. His work has been to turn it into a product that angel networks and family offices can offer under their own brand. He builds prototypes and internal tools himself with Claude Code, Cursor and Codex, so the team has a working version to discuss and improve.

He has worked in product management at several companies, among them Klarna and the EV charging network SMATRICS, always with one focus: turning platform services into businesses that scale. Before that he co-founded adconomy, a Munich startup for micro-influencer marketing. On the side he built Fin Cinema, an iOS app for Vienna’s arthouse cinemas.
